October 14-15, 2022

Westside Baptist Church, Lewisville, TX

It seems the church is silent on issues while the culture has been speaking. The Silent No More Conference will engage in conversations and provide classes on how the church responds to mental health, LGBTQ, Hebrew Israelites, Liberal Theology, Divination and Women in Ministry. The goal is to learn more and love better.

Speakers

Zion McGregor

Liberal Theology

Liberal/Progressive theology has many lanes. As a product of the Enlightenment it found it's way into various quarters of the church. The African American Church included. Join me in October as I address the history and impact of liberal theology on the African American Church.

Dr. Tim Fuller

Divination

All Witches Don’t Ride Brooms

What is your sign? Has anyone ever read your palm or showed you your future through tarot cards? Believers desire to find out the will of God for their lives. Unfortunately, some believers use illegitimate means to discover it, including using divination. But what exactly is divination? What are some things that the church endorses or that I am involved in that the Bible calls divination? How do I discern it so I can avoid it? In this workshop All Witches Don’t Ride Brooms, Dr. Timothy Fuller will answer these questions. We will show you how to test and try the spirits to see if they are of God. In the days in which we live, this workshop is very important for the contemporary church.

Dr. Bennye Bryant

Women in Ministry

We live in unprecedented times, and many are falling away from the faith. Are you empowered for such a time as this? God equip many women to teach, preach, and disciple others. Pastors and leaders, be aware! Are you using qualified women to stand in the gap and offer Christ to the lost? This workshop will help you to prepare your church for victory in Christ!

Dr. David Sanchez

LGBTQ

In this workshop Dr. David Sanchez will discuss how to minister to those in our pews who struggle with same-sex attractions and/or gender identity issues. Our churches are in desperate need of an approach that firmly holds to the truths of God's word but also that provides compassionate, wholistic encouragement.

Adam Coleman

Hebrew Israelites

This session is an introduction to Hebrew Israelism. Attendees will be provided with a brief history of the movement, their key beliefs, and responses we can give to defend the faith against their errant claims.

Alice Ward

Mental Health

An interactive discussion on reimagining best practices for spiritual health and mental health in the life of the African American Church.
