The increasing costs of essentials like gas and groceries have put a strain on every family's budget. For pastors already living on a tight budget and still recovering from the economic impacts of Covid-19, inflation can make an already challenging season even more difficult.

This grant is made possible through a generous gift from First Baptist Church of Midland and a matching grant from the Lilly Endowment as part of its national Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders Initiative.

The inflation relief grant is intended to benefit pastors who have experienced economic difficulties due to the rising costs of gas, utilities, groceries, and other necessities.

Please review the eligibility criteria below:

  • The pastor must be serving at a church affiliated with Texas Baptists that has contributed (any amount) to the Texas Baptists Cooperative Program within the last year.
  • Senior pastors and ministers employed full-time by the church that have at least one year of service in their current ministry context are eligible.

  • Financial support up to $500 may be provided to pastors until funds are no longer available.
  • Pastors that previously received an inflation relief grant are eligible to receive another $500 grant.
  • Pastors who meet all requirements are encouraged to apply.

Please note, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and grant funds will begin being dispersed in January 2023.
